Community Guidelines

Last Updated: September 20, 2026

Wander Hearts exists to help people build real connections and share real experiences — whether that's a first experience or a trip together. These Guidelines set out what we expect from every member, in plain language, so the community stays safe, respectful, and genuine. They work alongside our Terms of Service, which remain the binding legal agreement between you and Wander Hearts; where anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms govern.

Profile Guidelines

Age

You must be at least 18 years old to join Wander Hearts. Misrepresenting your age, or creating a profile while under 18, is not allowed. We offer an optional on-device selfie check that adds a Verified badge to your profile; we may take action on accounts we believe belong to a minor, whether or not they've completed this check.

We currently rely on the birthdate you provide at sign-up to confirm you meet this requirement. Our on-device selfie check confirms you're a real, live person matching your profile photos — it does not verify your age. We don't use government ID or other age-verification methods at this time, so we can't guarantee that every underage user will be caught before they access the Service; if we become aware an account may belong to someone under 18, we investigate and remove it.

Profile Photos

Your profile should show the real you. At least one photo must clearly show your own face. We don't allow:

  • Photos so heavily filtered, distorted, or edited that it's unclear the photo is really you.

  • Memes, text-only images, or screenshots used as a profile photo.

  • Photos of children on their own, or any photo showing an unclothed child.

Display Name

You can use your first name, a nickname, or your preferred name — it doesn't need to be your full legal name, but it should be how people actually know you. We don't allow:

  • Names that violate any part of these Guidelines.

  • The name of a celebrity, public figure, or fictional character used to impersonate them.

  • Symbols, emojis, numbers, or contact details (like a phone number or social media handle) in place of a name.

Content and Conduct Guidelines

These apply to your profile, any messaging features as they become available, and your conduct with other members — including in person, during a Wander Hearts Experience.

Adult Nudity and Sexual Content — Nude, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive content isn't allowed anywhere on your profile. We also don't allow using Wander Hearts to sell, advertise, or solicit sexual content or services.

Bullying and Abusive Conduct — We don't allow behaviour that makes another member feel harassed, belittled, or intimidated — including insulting someone's appearance, repeated unwanted contact after they've asked you to stop, or emotionally manipulative behaviour.

Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse — This is a zero-tolerance violation. We don't allow any content that sexualizes or endangers a minor, in any form. Accounts involved in this are permanently removed immediately, and we cooperate with law enforcement.

Commercial and Promotional Activity — Wander Hearts isn't a marketplace. Using your profile or any messaging feature to advertise a business, service, or unrelated app isn't allowed.

Controlled Goods and Substances — Don't use Wander Hearts to buy, sell, or promote illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or the misuse of legal substances like alcohol or prescription medication — including arranging this in connection with a trip or in-person meetup.

Terrorism and Violent Extremism — We don't allow content that promotes, glorifies, or supports a terrorist or extremist group or its activities.

Identity-Based Hate — We don't allow content or behaviour that promotes hate, contempt, or dehumanization based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or similar protected characteristics.

Inauthentic Profiles — Be yourself. Catfishing (presenting as someone you're not), or lying about key facts like your age, gender, or where you live, isn't allowed.

Physical and Sexual Violence — We don't tolerate threats or acts of physical or sexual violence, stalking, or using Wander Hearts to facilitate exploitation of any kind.

Scams, Fraud, and Theft — Don't use Wander Hearts to defraud another member — including asking for money or financial help or faking romantic interest to obtain financial or material benefit. This applies on the app and during any trip or meetup arranged through it.

Sexual Harassment — Unwanted sexual comments, unsolicited explicit images, or sharing intimate images of someone without their consent are not allowed, whether on the app or in person.

Spam — Don't send bulk or repetitive unwanted content, misleading links, or create multiple accounts to get around normal use of the app.

Suicide and Self-Injury Content — We care about our members' wellbeing. While sharing your own experience in a safe, non-graphic way is okay, we don't allow content that promotes, glorifies, or gives instructions related to suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. If you're struggling, please reach out to a mental health professional or a local crisis line — you don't have to go through it alone.

Violent and Graphic Content — We don't allow graphic depictions of real or realistic violence, gore, or serious injury on your profile.

Platform Manipulation

We don't allow automated tools, scripts, or bots used to scrape profiles, manipulate matching, or interact with other members on your behalf. We also don't allow attempts to get around a suspension or ban — including creating a new account or using a VPN to do so. Accounts found evading a ban will be removed again once identified.

Safety and Reporting

If someone makes you uncomfortable, violates these Guidelines, or you'd simply rather not hear from them again, you're always in control:

  • Report a profile or interaction directly from within the app — our team reviews every report.

  • Block anyone at any time; once blocked, they can't view your profile or contact you.

  • Reporting doesn't notify the other member, and doesn't require you to unmatch first if you'd rather just set a boundary.

Disagreeing with someone, or not being interested in them, isn't on its own a reason to report them. Reports made in bad faith — including targeting someone based on their gender identity, orientation, or other protected characteristic — may result in action against your own account.

Show Up — Commitment Matters

A Wander Hearts Experience only works if both people follow through. That's why confirming a trip involves a small, non-refundable Commitment Deposit from each participant — it exists to make sure the people accepting a Trip Invite actually intend to go.

  • Don't accept a Trip Invite if you don't genuinely plan to attend.

  • Repeated cancellations or no-shows affect other members' experience and your own standing on the Platform.

  • If your plans genuinely change, cancel as early as you can — our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains what's refundable and when.

Travel With Care

When a Wander Hearts Experience takes you somewhere new, you're a guest — of the destination, and of the people who live there.

  • Follow local laws and customs, even where they differ from what you're used to.

  • Be considerate of the environment, local communities, and the venues or activity providers Wander Hearts works with to run the Experience.

  • Treat your travel companion with the same respect in person that these Guidelines expect online.

Enforcement Philosophy

All members are expected to follow these Guidelines. If you act in a way that goes against them — or that we otherwise believe is harmful to Wander Hearts or its members — we may take a range of actions, depending on the severity and context, including:

  • Removing the content in question.

  • Issuing a warning.

  • Temporarily suspending your account.

  • Permanently removing your account, with no refund of any Commitment Deposit, consistent with our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Conduct outside the app can count too. If we become aware of harmful behavior between members — during a trip, a meetup, or through any messaging feature — we may take action on your account as if it happened on the Platform itself. Where necessary, we may also cooperate with law enforcement.

These will always result in immediate, permanent removal — no warning, no exceptions:

• Any sexual content involving, or that sexualizes, minors

• Threats or acts of physical or sexual violence, or promotion of self-harm or violence against others

• Exploitation, trafficking, or coercive behavior of any kind

• Fraud, scams, or catfishing intended to deceive or extract money

• Hate speech or targeted harassment based on a protected characteristic

If you believe we've made a mistake in taking action on your account, you can always contact us using the details below.

These Guidelines may be updated from time to time as the Wander Hearts community grows — we'll post the current version here, with the date it was last updated at the top.
